Body Castings are high-detail sculptures of the pregnant belly, or any other body part or even the whole darn body!

They can include the embracing hands of loved ones or can accommodate several people touching. They can be either "in-the-round" (ie, front and back) or fa鏰de only for wall mounting. Body Sculptures are a great way to capture that sexy body, or a part of it, to help on to forever. They can be displayed indoors or outdoors.

Body Sculptures are generally created for and of adults, however children certainly can partake depending on the project.

Process:

Body Castings, with the exception of faces, are a two-part process. First we apply a thin coat of purple body-casting rubber, which sets in about 5 minutes. Next we create a plaster bandage shell or the rubber, which gives the mold rigidity so we can pour casting stone in later to make the finished sculpture. The process takes about 30 minutes for a half-body.

Faces are cast using a 30-second Dental Alginate process. Straws for breathing are secured in your nose or mouth, we fill a face-shaped container with warm Alginate and your face is slowly lowered in until it sets. The Alginate removed from the face very cleanly and captures every hair and pour in the skin.

While we are happy to provide Body Casting services in your home, our studio is a much better place to have your appointment. The mess is left here, and should you decide during our consultation that you want something a little different than we initially talked about, we will have the supplies on hand to accomodate.
