Face of Abbotsford - Castings in Process

We have now completed the first 7 of the Face Castings for the FACE OF ABBOTSFORD project being made for the Abbotsford Cultural Centre, Museum and Art Gallery, which is opening in September 2008 with it’s inaugural exhibition highlighting the history and people of the Abbotsfrod area.

Here are a few of my favorite “process” shots.

Thank You to our first models: Gwynne, Jacquie, Peggy, Maria, Darren, Josh and Kristal!  We have the next 23 castings booked for the next two weeks so the artwork can be created and installed in time for the show opening.

Leanna - 5.5 weeks

Here’s a beautiful casting set of Baby Leanna at 5.5 weeks old.

She is an adorable, pudgy little girl who did a wonderful job sleeping right through her casting appointment.

Sweet Sarah - just 1 week old

A beautiful and calm little girl, we cast newborn baby Sarah in her home shortly after her arrival.  Mom and dad were thrilled to be blessed with their first little girl.

Hot Lips Mom and Daughter!

Hot Lips

Not everyone just wants hand and feet castings.  Shannon and daughter Helena came to the studio all the way from the Sunchine coast to cast their hands holding along with a little something extra!

Little Bum

We just love capturing those little cheaks!

We cast 1 year old Anika in her home as a surprise for Daddy’s Day!

Little Bottom

Desneige Memory Castings is happy to cast baby bottoms for children 2 years and younger.  Any later than that and we decline the task for the child’s privacy, but are happy to tell you how you might do it yourself, at home.

Recnt Work - Brooke in the Belly

Baby Brooke was cast in our studio a few weeks before even being born.  Her mother, Kathryn, had a great belly to show off and wanted show it off in the baby’s nursery. Before Brooke Was Even Born

People frequently ask about Belly castings and what they might do with it when the baby has grown into a child. The answer is that it can go out into the garden, hang in a different room, or be stored in baby’s hope chest for when the inevitably ask where do babies come from.
